Position: Producer and Workshop Designer.
Behind Sesame Street is Sesame Workshop, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children grow smarter, stronger, and kinder through educational media, family programs, and community events.
I was brought on as both producer and workshop designer for Little Adventurous (Pequeñas Aventureras), a multimedia initiative developed in partnership with Dubai Cares and the Inter-American Development Bank. The project aimed to improve STEM education outcomes for young children, with a strong focus on encouraging girls’ participation and sense of belonging in math and science.
My role combined hands-on production with the creative design of playful educational tools. I not only helped produce events related to the project but also designed original content to engage children and their families in thoughtful and inclusive ways. This included:
A memory game featuring Mexican women in STEM, where children matched each woman to her tools or work objects
A poster activity where children placed adjectives on illustrated figures of a girl and a boy, exploring how gender perceptions influence how we attribute traits
A costume-based roleplay game where kids dressed up as various STEM professionals, discovering what each profession involves and which tools or materials are used in their daily work
All materials were designed to be interactive, imaginative, and culturally grounded — reflecting my commitment to turning complex ideas into meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. The prototype was tested in schools in Mexico City and Monterrey.
